As summer turns to fall, we have published a brand new Fall 2026 Events Guide covering September through November across all seven communities. One of the things we love most about NW Metro Atlanta is how much there is to do, weekend after weekend. From free concerts on historic town squares to farmers markets, art festivals, and live music, every community in our service area knows how to bring people together.

This Weekend: September 26-27, 2026

This is one of the biggest weekends of the fall season. The North Georgia State Fair is in full swing at Jim R. Miller Park in Marietta, Riverfest brings more than 25,000 people to Etowah River Park in Canton, and downtowns from Acworth to Woodstock have live music, artisan markets, and farm-fresh Saturdays. Any of these are a perfect way to experience what living in these communities feels like.

Riverfest Arts & Crafts Festival - Canton

September 26-27 Free Family Friendly

The 42nd annual Riverfest Arts & Crafts Festival returns to Etowah River Park, drawing well over 25,000 visitors with hundreds of artist and craft vendors, food, and live entertainment along the riverfront. It is the signature festival on Canton's fall calendar and the perfect introduction to Cherokee County's growing downtown.

North Georgia State Fair - Marietta

September 24 - October 4 Family Friendly Fair Food

One of the state's biggest fall traditions runs through October 4 at Jim R. Miller Park, with this year's theme "Fair Nights under Stars and Stripes." Midway rides, live shows, livestock, fair food, and sensory-friendly hours make it a full weekend outing for families across Cobb County and beyond.

The Cherokee County Fair is back in Canton for the week. In Acworth, catch the Open-Air Artisan Showcase on Town Square Drive Friday evening, and in Woodstock, Jazz Night at The Reeves House on Friday gives way to Farm Fresh Fun: Apple Day at the Farm Fresh Market on Saturday morning. Farmers markets across all seven cities are in full swing, and the fair season has officially arrived.

October 3-4 in nearby Adairsville, a weekend celebration of the town's railroad heritage with vendors and music.

Georgia Tasting Festival - Cartersville

October 11 at Founders Park downtown. Food, wine, and spirits tasting on the historic square.

Pigs and Peaches BBQ Festival - Kennesaw (25th Anniversary)

October 16-17. Headliners include Chayce Beckham and Tigirlily Gold. Tickets required.

Year-Round Destinations

Beyond the scheduled events, NW Metro Atlanta is filled with places you can visit any weekend. Here are a few of our favorites.

Kennesaw Mountain

2,900+ acres of hiking trails, Civil War history, and panoramic views of the Atlanta skyline. Free. Open daily dawn to dusk. Mountain Road is now closed to private vehicles; a free shuttle runs from the visitor center.

Silver Comet Trail

61.5 miles of paved trail from Smyrna to the Alabama state line, with multiple access points in and around Dallas. Perfect for cycling, running, walking, and family bike rides. Free. Open dawn to dusk.

Tellus Science Museum

120,000-square-foot science museum in Cartersville with a planetarium, fossil gallery, mineral exhibits, and outdoor science garden. Great for a rainy weekend day.

The Battery Atlanta

The entertainment district surrounding Truist Park in Cobb County offers dozens of restaurants, bars, shops, and live music venues. Even on non-game days, it is a year-round destination for dining and nightlife.
